What is ModCheck?
ModCheck (modcheck.app) is an AI-powered, context-aware moderation service for Twitch chat, built and operated by Tiny Corp ("we", "us", "our"). Streamers connect their Twitch channel, write moderation rules ("Judges") in plain English, and ModCheck evaluates chat messages against them in real time.
What we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service.
- Twitch account info - when you sign in with Twitch we receive your username, email address and avatar. We never see your Twitch password.
- Chat messages - from channels where ModCheck is enabled, so judges can evaluate them. Evaluated messages and their verdicts are stored as your channel's moderation record (the audit trail) and as FLAG/OK examples you use to teach your judges.
- Stream context - the game being played, the stream title and what the streamer says on stream, used to give judges context for their decisions.
- Billing details - payments are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status, not your card details.
- Usage analytics - page views and product interactions via PostHog. When you're signed in, analytics are linked to your account so we can understand and improve the product.
- Email address - if you joined our early-access waitlist. Stored with Resend until you unsubscribe.
If you're a viewer in a ModCheck channel
If you chat in a Twitch channel that uses ModCheck, your public chat messages are processed by our AI on the streamer's behalf and may be kept in that channel's moderation record. We process this data to provide moderation for that channel and nothing else. We don't build profiles of viewers across channels.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
- We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use essential cookies only, to keep you signed in.
- We don't use your data for anything beyond providing and improving ModCheck. Chat data is used to moderate your channel and tune your own judges, not to build unrelated products.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate ModCheck:
- Twitch - sign-in (OAuth) and reading/moderating chat in connected channels.
- Anthropic - AI processing of chat messages and stream context for moderation verdicts.
- Stripe - payments and subscription management.
- PostHog - product analytics.
- Resend - email delivery.
- Cloudflare - DNS and website infrastructure.
Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data needed for each service to function.
Data retention
- Account data - kept while your account is active and deleted when you ask us to delete your account.
- Moderation records - chat messages, verdicts and judge examples are kept while the channel uses ModCheck, so the audit trail and judge teaching keep working. They're deleted with the account.
- Analytics data - retained per PostHog's default retention policy.
- Waitlist emails - kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can at any time:
- Request deletion of your account and the data we hold on you by contacting us.
- Ask questions about what data we hold on you, and request a copy.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email we send.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ModCheck evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in the app. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest revision.
